The Carriage
The carriage is similar to a typical forklift as the lifting attachment can be tilted forwards and backwards from its horizontal. The tilt that is possible on this machine exceeds more than that of the vertical masts. There are various kinds of lifting attachments available, and this ability to position makes them as effective as possible.
Most telehandlers have the capability of tilting to a position that is actually parallel to the ground. Some models have rotating carriages too. This allows the operator to radially adjust the lifting attachment. This translates to the load being able of being tilted forwards and backwards, as well as side to side.
Load Capacity
Telehandlers have a load capacity fairly similar to that of the vertical mast model. The unit's overall capacity would be dependent on things such as: boom extension and angle, whether the unit is lifting on outriggers or on rubber tires, and the amount of boom transaction deployed, if this is applicable. In addition, which lifting attachment plays an important part, as does the wind, the grade the machine is operating on and so on. All of these specifics could be changing regularly and this gives the operator a lot more information to think about.
Most of the time, telehandlers have some load charts available in order for the operator to reference so they can know the load capacity of a particular lift. Depending on the boom's configuration and the model in particular, the load capacity can differ by thousands of pounds all together.
