Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck usually goes by other names like: Walkie or Walkie-Rider. These pieces of equipment are basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
Like what the name implies, the walkie type is designed for the operator to walk alongside with the unit as they move loads. The Rider model however, uses a small platform for which the operator stands on. The rider models are ideal for frequent moving of loads over extended distances in warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are really maneuverable and fast.
It is not recommended to lift and transport unstable or tall loads since there are no safety cages on these models. A rider could be the perfect answer if you are looking for an inexpensive way of moving loads from point A to point B. If though, you should move heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is specifically made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the load and the operator with a purpose to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are typically very narrow aisle vehicles that can operate in aisles of less than six feet. They are really handy pieces of machinery in physical inventories as well as in cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more popular.
